Well, I ordered "The Zen of Screaming" online and I want to tell you about yourself.

Some people are born with naturally great voices, Elvis Presley or Judy Garland for example. I am not one of those people. Anyway, the concepts you introduce in your material do represent unique guidance for folks such as myself that don't have that type of gift, but are off balance enough to be able to benefit from this type of instruction regarding rock and roll vocalizing. It minimizes the risk of injury, which is present in any athletic undertaking (and this musical genre performance certainly qualifies).

I did actually take some voice lessons several years ago, which helped get me going on breathing technique and strengthening the muscles pertaining to such. But anyone can sing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". Coming up with a compelling style that someone would groove on is impossible for someone like me that is not blessed with a natural ability to kick ass in such a way. But your "Zen" approach has at least given me a start. The first thing I recorded after getting your DVD I posted on GarageBand.com. It was the first non instrumental song that I had ever posted there, and it got an award for best male vocals the week! It was getting far more reviews in the first round than I ever thought possible. I was trippin’. This doesn't mean I am on the way to fame and fortune, but, after all, garageband.com is a worldwide competition with many strong acts in the hardcore genre. I submitted another song. Amazingly, I was not hoarse after tracking the vocals (screaming)!

Well, maybe I still suck, but at least I have an idea of how to use vocal technique to get my ya yas out. After all, it’s only rock and roll.

NOTE:
This guy does not suck. Check him out on these tunes:
